Belgian Dubbel

My brother and I started to brew beer about a year ago. I must say, we've been pretty successful in terms of learning quickly and producing some really nice ales. We put together a Belgian Dubbel from a recipe I found over the weekend which called the beer a"ChimHEY" (get it). Anyway, never made a Belgian before, let alone a beer that called for two pounds of brown sugar! Can't wait to sip on this.

It's been a few weeks since I've last posted anything. That's not because I havn't had any "tasteful" experiences to talk of, just that I've been really busy. Much like everyone else I'm sure :).

Though this has nothing to do with food (sans the lovely beers I was drinking) I was fortunate enough to see one of my absolute favorite musicians earlier this month. Jeremy Enigk, former front man for Sunny Day Real Estate, played the North Star bar in Philly on December 9th. It was truly amazing. The first and only time that I ever saw him before (never even made it to a SDRE show). While the lady and I were waiting in the bar for the show to start he totally came through and walked right past us. I was star struck for the first time ever (actually, I was pretty star struck when I met Jello Biafra too). Fucking awesome show! We were practically on the stage and I was able to snap off many great pics. Had a fantastic time with my beautiful girl! She drove and kept me pretty boozed up. Can't ask for more!
